Head of South Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-agency, Salimin said the data is the result of drawing from the population profile dashboard at the Residents' Association (RW) and Neighborhood Association (RT) levels in Jakarta which was developed by the agency.
"Developed to monitor regional-based population data, this helps neighborhood unit (RW) administrators monitor the number of residents based on the Clean Population Data (DKB) of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs," he said, Wednesday (4/1).
New Arrival Data Collection Conducted in CilincingHe detailed that of the 225 new arrivals recorded, 99 were male and 126 female. Based on educational attainment, 29.33 percent of the arrivals had a high school education or higher, while the remaining 70.67 percent had a high school education or lower.
Meanwhile, in terms of employment, around 61.33 percent of immigrants fall into the low-income category, while 38.67 percent do not fall into that category.
"The majority of immigrants come from Jakarta's buffer areas, namely Depok, Bogor and South Tangerang," he added.
For the destination areas, Salimin continued, the majority of immigrants reside in Jagakarsa, Pesanggrahan, and Pasar Minggu Districts.
"Based on the type of work, the majority of newcomers are students or private employees," he explained.
Salimin appealed to all newcomers in South Jakarta area to immediately take care of their population administration according to applicable regulations.
"We hope that newcomers can become part of an orderly, active society and contribute positively to social life in their respective environments," he hoped.
